i-neda is a specialist development company, building scalable, high volume wagering applications and websites for some of the world’s largest betting and gaming companies. We are looking to recruit an experienced Systems Administrator to join our small, friendly and highly motivated team at our offices in Farnborough and remotely from home.
Role overview
The Linux Systems Administrator will join our busy Technical Support team. This group is responsible for the installation, maintenance and support of all online systems and websites used by our customers. They will also work closely with the Development Team to install and publish platforms, services and applications to the live environment.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable working with Linux installation & administration, network management, scripting and automation tools, cloud installations, physical servers, and database management. This role is varying and require a broad set of skills. We do not expect you be proficient in all areas, however, have a strong desire to learn and pick-up new tech on the job.
Key Responsibilities:
Support and administration of systems and applications
Installation of Production, Development and Test Environments
Security and vulnerability hardening of all live platforms
Regular Patching and updates of all Linux systems
Deploying new code releases and patches to our test and live environments
Performance optimization of all Live platforms
Input into Penetration and Load Testing of all Live platforms
Planning and management of infrastructure usage
Installation, configuration and maintenance of databases
Reviewing of all system activity and system logs
Ensuring sufficient monitoring is in place and reacting to any monitoring alerts in a timely and appropriate manner
Maintain and update all assigned tickets
Provide out of hours on call support when required
Ensure back-up and recovery procedures are in place
Introduce and implement best work policies and ensure we are adhering to ISO27001 standards
Provide detailed documentation regarding all aspects of server-related work.
Experience & Skills
· Advanced Linux and Mysql knowledge
· Juniper Netscreen and Cisco firewalls
· Knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash
· Any knowledge or experience of programming languages such as Ruby, Java, Golang an advantage
· Knowledge/experience of AWS cloud platforms
· Knowledge/experience of Configuration Management and Deployment tools, e.g. Ansible, Terraform, Docker, Rancher etc
· Proven experience working with and implementing alerting/monitoring systems
· Identify potential issues and resolve in a proactive manner
· Proven experience in a Systems Administration and support role
· Experience in setting up and deploying new environments
· Understanding or experience of working to or implementing ISO or other regulatory standards
· Ability to work efficiently and prioritise tasks under pressure
· Ability to work well within a team
· Appetite to learn, research and self-teach
· Good communication and reporting skills
· Previous experience or knowledge of the betting / gaming or finance industry an advantage

Candidates with experience with 2 or more of the following technologies and an interest in expanding their knowledge of continuous deployment and Cloud hosting technologies will have a significant advantage:

Flexible working hours 8am to 10am start and 4pm to 6pm finish. We would also consider a day off in the week in return for working one weekend day.
